SKILLS FOR FREE ONLINE CASINO GAMES
2011-02-08
Online gambling is one of the most famous games in today’s time. To find a virtual casino and the subsequent registration of the player is very easy. The only obstacle faced by various beginners or first-time players is their lack of knowledge about the strategies and rules of the various online casino games. There are generally two kinds of people who visit the online casinos; one, who play for money and the rest who play to entertain themselves. Therefore, the latter reason gives an edge to the online casinos over the land-based casinos. The provision of playing without the land does not give any money based casinos.
The online casinos are like land-based casinos, the only difference is that the former is the virtual version and the latter is the real one. The games offered are almost the same like roulette, baccarat, blackjack etc. There are many advantages of the virtual casinos. The first advantage is the ability to access the casinos from home, no matter what time it is. The other advantage is the access provided to these casinos for free. One can learn the gaming skills, without investing any money. Whereas, in the real casinos, one can only pay after depositing the money, whether, you know the game or not. Another advantage is the provision of bonuses, points and credits by the free casino game’s sites, which eliminates the risk of losing any money. The final advantage is the reduction of stress by playing free games online. The players do not have to worry about losing money anymore, as they don’t play with the real money but virtual credits.

ONLINE CASINO LIFTS PARTY GAMING TRADE UPDATE
2010-12-17
Good revenues from casino operations offset softer performances from online poker and bingo operations
Party Gaming plc, one of the industry's strongest companies, released its pre-close trading update Friday, reporting a strong performance in casino mitigated by a softer seasonal performance in poker and bingo
Clean EBITDA margins for 2010 are expected to be in-line with expectations, around between 27 percent and 28 percent, Management noted, with the prospect of regulation in new markets offering 'exciting' medium to long-term revenue potential that could be accessed by additional investment
"Trading since the end of September 2010 has been solid overall with a particularly strong performance in casino that has enjoyed double-digit growth in average daily gross revenue versus the third quarter, driven by growth in both turnover and hold," a company statement revealed.
"Poker has also seen growth in average daily gross revenue over the third quarter, although the usual seasonal pickup has been less pronounced than in previous years due to the strengthening of the Euro against the US dollar.
"In bingo, average gross daily revenue has grown versus the current trading data reported at the time of our Q3 KPIs, but remains lower than the third quarter. This is due to the strengthening of the Euro against sterling and seasonality, as UK-based bingo players typically reduce their spend in the run-up to Christmas.
"While sports betting has continued to deliver a solid performance in the period, the benefit of the World Cup during the third quarter as well as a favourable series of results for punters has meant that average daily gross revenue in sports is down versus the third quarter.”
The update goes on to point out that an increasing number of territories are now actively exploring the merits of a regulatory framework for online gaming, and as a result Party Gaming is closely monitoring Germany, Greece, Holland, Denmark and Spain as well as other countries in Europe. Whilst the shape and scope of any such regulations is not yet known, should some of these markets move to regulate, additional gaming taxes and investment may be required, the update cautions.
Management also notes that there is increased momentum in the United States towards regulating online gaming both at the federal and state level, and that Party Gaming is already strongly positioned to take advantage of any breakthroughs, having engaged with several licensed companies. Should the requisite legislation be enacted, the Group is well advanced in discussions with licensed American companies that could create substantial value for shareholders.
The merger with Austrian-listed giant Bwin is on track, with an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders expected to be convened for late January 2011 and completion of the deal around March 2011.
Party's chief executive, Jim Ryan, said: “Revenues in the fourth quarter have enjoyed their usual seasonal upturn. Casino has performed particularly strongly with double-digit revenue growth over the third quarter, although currency movements meant that the uplift in poker has been less pronounced than usual. Clean EBITDA margins are expected to be in line with our previous guidance for 2010.
“The proposed merger with bwin remains on-track to complete at the end of the first quarter and should place the combined group in a strong position to take advantage of the changing regulatory landscape in Europe given its leadership positions across all key product verticals.”
CASINO CLUB JACKPOT WON….AGAIN! (Update)
2010-10-04
New winner for Jackpot Poker bonanza.
The online player community marveled this week at a new development in the long-running saga of the Jackpot Poker progressive jackpot at Casino Club.com.
InfoPowa readers may recall that the casino has been embroiled since 2008 in a dispute with a player over a Euro 167 500 jackpot.
The issue has resulted in accusations against the player and the involvement of the Malta regulator, along with the controversial use of a clause in Malta law that gambling debts are unenforceable.
Adding heat to the debate has been a questionable decision by the casino to hold on to the disputed jackpot – which players fund from each wager - long after the case had been finalised.
Last week Casino Club, under some pressure on the forums, agreed to replace the jackpot, and was good for its word, re-fuelling the Jackpot Poker game on October 1st.
Almost immediately, the jackpot was hit again, according to a report on the casino website over the weekend which reads:
“Jackpot Poker just got even better. From the 1st of October the sensational amount of Euro 200,000 has been added to the jackpot of the popular Video Poker game.
“Gavin already hit the jackpot of more than Euro 235,000 in Jackpot Poker.”
The announcement goes on to detail special promotional offers on the game, noting that the
withdrawal requirement for the bonus offer is 30 times, bonus plus deposit.
The jackpot has been reset to Euro 25,875.29 at Euro 25 per hand.
NEW JERSEY CASINO OPERATORS REJECT SPORTS BETTING PROPOSAL (Update)
2010-06-11
Casino Association of New Jersey opposed to changing state law to permit sports gambling.
Atlantic City land casino operators have been suffering declining revenues for the past three-and-a-half years as a result of the recession and competition from neighbouring states, but they appear to have discarded a proposal by state lawmakers to legalise intrastate sports betting.
This week members of the Casino Association of New Jersey for the first time expressed strong opposition to current moves by state lawmakers to allow residents to wager over the Internet, whether by playing online poker or betting on sports events. This is despite the fact that the proposed legalisation confines the activity to within the state, conducted by land casino licensees.
Joseph A. Corbo Jr., the association’s president, wrote Tuesday to a southern New Jersey lawmaker to urge that he and his colleagues reject or delay a current sports-betting proposal, which seeks to change the state constitution so sports’ betting within the state is allowed.
The Association’s opposition comes as New Jersey lawmakers in an Assembly committee and in the full Senate this week discuss allowing a voter referendum on sports betting, reports the Atlantic City Press.
Corbo cited four specific complaints regarding the proposal, claiming that it expanded gaming outside Atlantic City and might violate the federal Wire Act. He wrote that the association did not want sports betting or other gaming legislation to progress in “a rushed manner that ignores the complex legal framework that exists for gambling laws in this country.”
“We urge the committee to vote no on this referendum, or at least not hold any vote on it, until further guidance can be given from the attorney general or other law enforcement,” Corbo wrote in a letter to Assemblyman John Burzichelli, who chairs the Assembly committee on Regulatory Oversight and Gaming.
Following receipt of the letter, Burzichelli decided Thursday to cancel a hearing in his committee on the sports-betting resolution. In the state Senate, lawmakers similarly failed to take a scheduled vote on the resolution, which is sponsored by Sen. Ray Lesniak, who has led the state’s effort to overturn the federal ban on sports betting.
His law firm, Weiner Lesniak, has filed suit in federal court to overturn the ban, arguing that it violates states’ constitutional rights.
The Atlantic City Press reports that the Casino Association of New Jersey’s objections extend not only to sports betting, but also to a bill to allow casinos to operate intrastate online gaming portals based out of Atlantic City. The bill would allow customers to play online versions of poker, blackjack and other games. Senators released that bill from committee on June 3 (see previous InfoPowa reports).
The Association argues that the sports-betting proposal, which would allow casinos to take sports bets online, amounts to Internet gambling. Both sports-betting and Internet-gaming proposals are illegal under the federal Wire Act, the Association claims, “because the Internet is an inherently interstate activity involving the wires. ... It is very clear that the federal government must take the lead on this issue, especially with respect to federal criminal laws.”
The Association also claims that the proposed new laws are a “gambling expansion beyond Atlantic City” and lawmakers should take no action to widen wagering in any way beyond casino gambling and horse betting at racetracks until an advisory committee to Gov. Chris Christie delivers its recommendations on boosting the state’s gaming, due June 30.
The Association is also concerned that betting on sports, in particular, contravenes the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act.
The Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association, a trade association for businesses and individuals who support online gaming, was mentioned in the Association’s submission. iMEGA has lobbied hard for both new gaming options to become law, but the Association claims that the body has no interests based in New Jersey.
Joe Brennan Jr., the CEO of iMEGA, told Atlantic City Press Thursday evening that iMEGA was classified as a 501c6 not-for-profit trade association and was incorporated in New Jersey.
“One of our prerogatives is the confidentiality of our membership,” he said. “We have been through the federal courts and asserted our right to keeping that confidentiality.”
Sen. Lesniak said the Casino Association is “shilling for Harrah’s, and their commercial interests, at the expense of the people of New Jersey” in insisting that the matter is a federal and not state issue.
